Fiona Dean is a British artist (b.1978). She currently lives and works near Edinburgh, Scotland.
After a degree in Fine Art Sculpture at Central St Martins London, she has developed a passion for science and the natural world. Fiona’s work has evolved by blurring the boundaries between these subjects.
Her art tries to untangle some of the psychological and biological questions between the t fields.
Her taxidermy work uses only gifted, naturally deceased and found animals, with a fondness for birds.
Fiona’s jewellery collection was born from a love of bones and casting. Using the lost wax process she creates a range of gold and silver pieces to be worn as modern day amulets.
